This quote by Tim Field is as relevant to managers and those whose feelings are clones of your own as well as whose work and characteristics are clones of your own

One of the first things I teach people on my management courses and programmes is to learn as much as then can about themselves: their characteristics, their personality type, their habits, their comfort zones etc.

And then I ask them to consider how all of these impact on their interaction with others and their management of others

How does a detail person managing a blue-sky thinker work best? How does an extrovert use empathy to best manage an introvert etc?

What do you know about yourself and what do you know about this in your team and how can you use this knowledge to make you a better manager for each of them?
